Sweating is a biological function. Still, people go to great lengths to disguise or conceal the odor of their sweat. The antiperspirants industry is a multi-billion dollar sector. Even though people use such products every day, most are unaware of some surprising deodorant facts.

Body Odor Resentment

This isn’t a modern phenomenon. The use of perfume can be traced back to ancient Egyptians. The first trademarked perfume was released in 1888 with the first antiperspirant following one and a half decades later.

Deodorant and Bacteria

Sweat is odorless. The stench is caused by bacteria on the skin that break down some sweat types. Some antibacterial powder is put into deodorants in order to stop the odor before it starts, while antiperspirants deal with sweat.
