This year the ’December Solstice’ occurs on 21st at 10:44:07 UT (05:44:07 EST) – it is, in other words, the Sun’s annual ingress into tropical Capricorn.
In the Northern Hemisphere, Winter Solstice happens every year when the Sun reaches its most southerly declination of -23.5 degrees; at that time, the shortest day and longest night of the year will be experienced in the Northern Hemisphere; but the opposite is true for the Southern One (since, let’s imagine, the Sun is directly overhead at noon on the Tropic of Capricorn), there the Summer Solstice happens inducing the longest day and shortest night.
In the Northern Hemisphere, the shortest day of the year often falls on December 21st, but the modern calendar of 365 days a year – with an extra day every four years – does not correspond exactly to the solar year of 365.2422 days. Therefore, this solstice can happen on December…

December 24th-26th –
Big Daddy Jupiter wines and dines your Uncle Uranus and your picky Aunt Saturn. Thank Goddess, your lovely mom or favorite Aunt Venus is getting them drunk under the tree so everyone is getting along for a change.
Reunions, even among dysfunctional families, are surprisingly harmonious. This is the “Christmas Miracle.”
Conversations are actually productive even though they are unconventional so let the eggnog flow and be liberal with the booze. Keep in mind that there will be some things that make no sense, but enjoy the fact that everyone is getting along for a change. This is an opportune time to mend fences, bury hatchets and apologize. Who knew?
I am also offering Mercury Retrograde Readings through Mercury Retrograde at 50% off until January 8th. Please go to my website for more information.

“What then is time? If no one asks me, I know what it is. If I wish to explain it to him who asks, I do not know.” –Saint Augustine
Mercury Retrograde Key Dates: December 1st, Mercury enters shadow period at 28 degrees Sagittarius. December 19th, Mercury stations direct at 15 degrees Capricorn. January 8th, Mercury stations direct at 28 degrees Sagittarius. January 27th, Mercury shadow period ends at 15 degrees Capricorn.
What You Need To Know: Those with sensitive points at 28 and 15 degrees respectively will be activated. Look at your chart, do you have any planets in any sign within a few degrees of those numbers? Those areas of your chart will be triggered. Also look at what houses in your chart are ruled by Capricorn and Sagittarius, duh!
Stations Direct in technical terms means “things are getting heavy”. Prepare for Peak Retro!…

Every time a Mercury Retrograde period occurs, people go crazy, literally and figuratively. I always wondered why tho? I notice that other planets go retrograde to little or no fanfare whatsoever.
So why Mercury Retrograde?
Mercury is the most important yet mysterious planet in the solar system. Mainly because of its speed, and responsibility. It really doesn’t have time to explain itself, but you will ultimately feel its presence or lack thereof. Mercury is the mind, the human mind. Not the Spiritual mind. But the intelligent mind. This has pros and cons, like most things within duality. Mercury separatesus from Animals as well as Gods. Mercury is able to relay messages and is the intermediary between all three worlds. The human world, the God realm, and the Animal kingdom.
So when this planet goes retrograde, our COMMUNICATION is all thrown off. Mercury is that mysterious substance that connects water and…

By Mark Lerner
“The kick-off campaign to this morning’s Mercury station and shift into reverse occurs about 90-minutes earlier when Mars enters Pisces (1:24AM) until January 27. Then the winged Messenger of the Gods planet halts its forward progress at 16 degrees of Capricorn (2:56AM) in a three-weekly cycle that will conclude on January 8.
These two somewhat ornery sky movements, combined with the Moon in Virgo making its monthly opposition to Neptune in Pisces (3:24AM) as well as Mercury zapping Mars via a frictional, 45-degree tie (5:32AM), reinforces the cosmic signal to be cautious, careful, and conservative across the board. Being reckless and foolish, in all fields of endeavor, is asking for trouble. Since the Messenger of the Gods planet has no motion right now, its archetypes are intensified far and wide.

Here’s a quick heads up, as we scurry or scuffle towards the end of the year. Mercury in Capricorn turns retrograde on the 20th December until the 9th January. Being the planet of communication, it can and often does coincide with disturbances or breakdowns in all forms of communication and conveyance. SO, even if it feels like you don’t have the time, take a few moments to back up your ALL your data – across all your devices. Check your travel bookings and allow for extra time to get wherever you’re going. Check documents before you sign them and take ten deep breaths before you react verbally – to anything. Mercury is travelling alongside Pluto right now, which could make for some fairly intense interactions!
Apart from the irritating stuff, at a deeper level, we are all being given an opportunity to carefully consider, assess (Mercury Retrograde in…

I agree. Merc Rx can be rather useful! It certainly illustrates “blind spots.”
Do not fear or dread Mercury Retrograde. This popular nonsense about Mercury Retrograde being hellish, horrible and time to lock yourself away until it’s all over is all misguided and overwrought.
Mercury moves Retrograde on average about 1/3 of the year. We need to sleep 8 hours a day which is also 1/3 of our entire lives. Nature always does everything in balance. Even though Mercury Retrograde is an apparent illusion, it appears real and the planets are also symbolic indicators for us to take our cues from. Mercury Retrograde is a natural time to rest whenever it occurs. All you drilled in non-stop worker drones need to chill.
Make Mercury Retrograde work for you by playing by the rules of doing everything that has the prefix Re. Mercury Retrograde’s symbol is Rx it is good medicine.
The Main thing to do when Mercury is Retrograde is RELAX.
Yes, the rule is not to…

These days, Dec 17 – 19 is the yearly time when (in the Northern Hemisphere) the SUN in late SAG points to theheart of our Milky Way Galaxy – the Galactic Centre, a dark rift, ‘black hole’, AND a birthing place out of stillness, energetically honoured by indigenous cultures as the Womb of Creation.
All of us with our birthday these days, or other planets in our birth chart at 26 – 28° Sag, are strongly called to align from our loving heart with the heart of hearts, follow ultimate truth, inner guidance, and trust the inner soul light on our path.
Star Cluster in the Galactic Centre (NASA) – Heart of our Milky Way, at the end of SAG where the SUN travels just before the WINTER SOLSTICE Point
On the Winter Solstice intersection of SAG / CAP, we are also at the Space-Time cross(roads).
Showing up at the right place at the right time matters, and meets the…

Our True Face
Conjunct Pluto as it stations retrograde in Capricorn, this is an incisive Mercury with little patience for subjectivity, or sensitivity for that matter! We may be disappointed if we want life to go gently with our feelings as the year closes, for there are more potent agendas at work, in service of truth-telling and revelation no matter the cost. This Mercury wants to squeeze the last drops of wisdom out of 2016 before the new year begins, and won’t let anything be swept beneath the carpet for a more convenient time. In the spirit of effective closure and resolution of unfinished business, this is an important time to clear the air and face up to whatever in our life has become undeniable.
It has been an explosive year, what with the Uranis/Eris conjunction and the Saturn/Neptune square. The personal and collective shadow is being purged. Brought to…

A group of people make music and merriment near a roaring fire during the longest night of the year. Their mission: to await the sunrise and hold vigil through the darkness with feasting, celebration, and the burning of the sacred yule log. The winter solstice vigil–lasting upwards of 15 hours in the darkness can be one of the most intensive, challenging, and rewarding experiences. I’ve succeeded at one all-night vigil and failed at one all-night vigil (due to underpreparedness, see later in the post) and yet both have been moving experiences. This year, on the 21st, a group of us is going to attempt an outdoor all night vigil. At this point, the weather looks good (not dipping below 30 degrees and clear) which is about the best Winter Solstice Vigil weather you can ask for!
In preparation for next week’s vigil, I thought I’d take…

Mercury is retrograde starting December 19. The last time Mercury went retrograde, I was worried because my son and I were both moving starting new lives, and it is generally not a good time to start new things, especially big new things. Well as it turned out, it was all ok. Both moves went off without a hitch, both cars ran well. Although, my car was totaled 2 weeks after retrograde ended, lol. I did a little backsliding emotionally just before the move, at the middle of the retrograde, but that was to be expected I guess. Big changes.
This time it’s the day of the electoral college vote.
I’m looking at my last two posts, I think I’ve already started backsliding because of the retrograde effects. They can start a couple weeks before. I’m backsliding like crazy tonight, to a place I know is not good for me. It…
