About Lost Dudeist Astrology

This blog was born spontaneously, with no planning.  It is a sibling to Grand Trines, an astrology blog by the same author since 2008.  The focus of Grand Trines is to explore astrological patterns in a manner similar to a school.  In comparison to this blog, GT is quite “conservative.”

This blog is completely different.  From the beginning, it is intended to be experimental with a focus on humor and the offbeat.  We mostly (almost always) repost the work of others, astrologers, pinup collectors, aspiring writers, tinfoil hat conspiracy theorists, and other creative and “different” people.  If you are easily offended, leave right away.  We might have some nudity, and we will almost always be controversial.  Expect it from the beginning.

The name of the blog is a reference to Dudeism.  We picked that to emphasize this: avoid taking anything too seriously.  (Especially NOT this blog!)  If we post any of our own work, chances are good that they will be characterized as the Lost Dudeist Astrology Works of Nostradamus.  Well, maybe we will do that.  Not sure.  We reserve the right to be whimsical.

If we had any aspirations besides being the Official Channel for Lost Dudeist Astrology Writings by Nostradamus (and others), we would aspire to become the Official Astrologer for The Onion.

Update: We been ordained by the Church of the Latter Day Dude.  We are now a Lost Dudeist Priest as described thus: “Congratulations! You may now call yourself an official Dudeist Priest. You can also call yourself a Reverend, Minister, Cleric, Rabbi, or whatever you like. If you’re interested in officiating at wedding ceremonies, please contact your local county clerk first to see if they recognize your new status as an ordained Minister.”

In updating this page (January 2, 2017), we noted that we have “run out of space” for media on Lost Dudeist Astrology.  For this reason, we will be deleting most (or all?) media more than twelve (12) months old to make space for new posts / blog entries.  For now, that means that 2015 posts / media are subject to deletion.

Thank you! The light bulb went on one evening that I need to split my stream of content into two (or maybe three) pieces. Some really like the other blog better, but some like this one better. BOTH started growing quickly when I split the content.

The other one is now purely astrology (or very close) with a strong emphasis on forecasts. This one is a potpourri of astrology, politics (I try to post content in this area from multiple, often opposing, viewpoints), NSFW, “tinfoil hat” conspiracy theory, poetry, photography, and other content. In a sense, they are both my “children” but have very different personalities. Number of posts on LDA is currently high (40 daily, typically), but I will likely thin this down on the assumption that it might be “too much” for some people. (Will aim for less than 20 daily.)

      Again, thank you!

Who can say what the future holds? Speaking of which, “let me know if you have any chart requests,” said the astrologer to the alchemist.

Funny how that worked. I (eventually) reached the conclusion that my existing blog (Grandtrines) needed to be split into three pieces. Grand Trines kept forecasts and analysis, Mystic Rectangles focused specifically on aspects and patterns (and some functions as an aspectarian), and Lost Dudeist gave me an outlet for other things I found interesting (as well as Astrology op-ed pieces, tutorials, tarot card readers, and so forth). GT has original material (along with forecasts of other astrlogers) and so does Mystic Rectangles, but Lost Dudeist almost always showcases the work of others who catch my attention. Thanks for the encouragement!

given the (laudible) humour present here and the risk of becoming a total bore I reserve the right to remain silent, but, what the eff did that ever do for blogging….thanks for the reblog dude

HA!! Wow. When I was two years old, I pointed at a movie and said “daddy” for Jeff Bridges. He is the “dude” at his job…looks/talks (doesn’t behave) like Jeff Bridges’ character in The Big Lebowski. Dudeism, wow. Interesting connection! Thanks for the reblogs – I am definitely going to follow your blog! 🙂

Brilliant 😀 I love your description of this site – and I am very flattered to have had my post reblogged here, I do like to think of myself as a “tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist” and a “creative and “different”” person. So yay! I just wanted to thank you again for reblogging my post about pizza, that was so nice of you. I have also followed, I can’t believe I wasn’t following already 😀
