According to Oxford Dictionaries (2017), Astrology is, “the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world.” As with most definitions, however, the reality is much more nuanced, and much, much more complicated.
When most people think of Astrology, they think of the 12 Zodiac signs, and their corresponding, daily horoscopes. While the Zodiacs are helpful, they are but one part of a much larger concept. This is one of the reasons why the daily horoscopes are often quite general, and not always accurate. The other reason being that the majority of horoscopes are not written by trained Astrologists, but by writers with no background in Astrology at all (Besley, 2017)
